No Batteries No Problem – Ruger's New ReadyDot Micro Reflex Optic
The latest entry into the micro-red dot category of carry optics has just hit the scene, this time from Ruger. Ruger is proud to announce their new ReadyDot Micro Reflex Optic. The ReadyDot will use the Shield RMSc footprint which is common to the micro-compact 9mm category of firearms. What’s really interesting and unique about the Ruger offering is that it features no windage or elevation adjustments, a 15 MOA dot, and also uses no battery to power its dot. Instead, the Ruger ReadyDot relies on a fiber optic system similar to some prism optics to generate a visible dot that auto-adjusts based on ambient lighting.
Celebrate Friday, October 22nd (RUGER DAY) With TFB
Happy RUGER (10/22) Day everybody! As a lot of you know, rimfire is one of my favorite subsections of the firearms world and I absolutely love getting out and ringing steel with my 10/22 rifles and pistols.TFB is always happy to celebrate the handy little rimfire rifle. In a lot of ways, the ubiquitous 10/22 is my anchor point for my firearms life as it was the first firearm I ever shot and I have always had one in my collection in some way, shape or form. Since its introduction in 1964, the 10/22 series has seen a lot of growth, adoration, and experimentation in the firearms community and for a nearly 60-year-old rifle, it still has a solid place within the firearms world as a trainer, plinker, and competition rifle.
[SHOT 2018] Ruger's PC9 Carbine & Other MOST WANTED Firearms from Range Day
Ruger has a LOT of new firearms that they are introducing to consumers for 2018, but some of them tower in popularity above others. It was pretty easily recognizable by how long the lines were to shoot and test firearms at SHOT Show’s Industry Day at the Range. The number one firearm on that list is easily the PC9 Carbine that, like a phoenix, has risen again from the ashes.
Ruger Precision Rifle: KEYMOD is OUT & M-LOK is IN
There are lots of timeless firearm debates to throw all of your shooting friends in a frenzy. They are sometimes more dangerous than talking about politics at Thanksgiving dinner.

NEW RELEASE: Ruger Precision Rimfire Adapts Big-Bore Traits for Small-Bore Enthusiasts
Ruger has taken their wildly popular centerfire rifle, the Ruger Precision Rifle or RPR, and adapted it for small-bore enthusiasts with the newly unveiled Ruger Precision Rimfire chambered in .22 Long Rifle. This iteration of its bigger brother touches on many of the features that draw shooters to the Precision rifle.
UPGRADE: Ruger RedHawks get Sleeve & Shroud Barrels to Improve Accuracy
When it comes to revolvers, no company is going to re-invent the wheel (or the wheelgun), but they can always be refined. That is exactly what Ruger has done with two of their Redhawks. In both a 4.2″ and 5.5″ barrel configuration they have added in sleeve and shroud barrels to help improve the accuracy.
Ruger THUMPS with their No. 1 Sporter Now Chambered in .450 Marlin
Ruger no longer has the expansive caliber selection they used to in their No. 1 line-up of single-shot rifles, but they are not letting this model go away permanently either. Ruger recently announced they are chambering their Sporter model in .450 Marlin for those who love a caliber that thumps!
SECRET, SECRET!… Maglula Loader & Unloader for Ruger BX-25 Magazines Coming Soon
Maglula, the company known for making very simple yet extremely effective magazine loaders and unloaders, has some more tricks up their sleeves to save our thumbs. Currently, they have a magazine loader and unloader in development for the Ruger BX-25 magazine. I, for one, am always on board for tools that make my range experience easier and more efficient. Basically, more time sending lead down range and less time monkeying with my equipment.
Ruger Unicorn In The Wild: The MP9
My friend Scott H., the guy with a lot of machine guns, told me about this unicorn that Altra Firearms recently acquired. It is a Ruger MP9. For those not familiar with this gun, it was designed by the father of the UZI, Uziel Gal. Ruger bought the rights to the Uzi in the US and together they updated the UZI with zytel polymer lower receivers. The MP9 was released in 1995 but sales were lack luster. According to Scott, at the time the MP9 was sold for around $800. You could buy multiple UZIs for that much or for a couple hundred more you could get an H&K MP5. No one knows how many are still operational. General consensus around the NFA community that there are less than 500 made.
October 22nd (10/22) is RUGER DAY!!!
Ruger Day is not only coming, it has arrived! Today is October 22nd. If you break that down into a shorthand date of 10/22 you get one of the most widely loved and utilized rimfire rifles in history. Ruger firearms has officially declared October 22nd (10/22) as the official day of Ruger paying homage to their historically-phenomenal, rimfire rifle.
Hot Off the Assembly Line: Ruger AR-556 MPR
Ruger dove into their hat of tricks once again to bring out a more specialized version of their bread ‘n butter AR-15. They have developed the AR-556 MPR (“Multi Purpose Rifle”).
Grip Intuitively on a Ruger LC9s with LaserMax GripSense
When it comes to a carry pistol, everything about it should be intuitive. Your ability to manipulate the functions, turn the safety on and off (if it has a manual safety), and to confidently place into action any accessories you may deem necessary. If really like or believe in lasers, then Ruger has a new combination that is both intuitive and could possibly tempt your wallet. They have combined their Ruger LC9s with LaserMax’s GripSense laser/light combo for a factory package.
"The Devil Went Down to… Arizona!" to help William Ruger make the MK I
Many of us were truly elated to see that Ruger had come out with their MK IV pistol that disassembles at the mere push of a button. Sadly, this answer to all of our problems… had a problem. It was recently recalled and has many consumers scratching their head again looking at competitor’s pistols like the Smith & Wesson Victory. Fairly easy disassembly, but it does require a tool.
