Manners Composite Stocks introduced their new Pro Hunter lightweight carbon fiber rifle stock at SHOT Show 2023. The Pro Hunter blends features of long-range and tactical stocks with features popular on hunting stocks.

The tried and true Remington Model 700 bolt-action rifle received a major update at the end of summer 2022 with the introduction of the new Remington Model 700 Alpha 1 rifle. The initial factory model offering from Remington has just been confirmed to be paired with a custom AG Composites charcoal gray stock.

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many firearms, ammunitions, and history! Last week we talked about the Margolin MCM .22LR target pistol, and Mikhail Margolin, its blind designer. I think the biggest takeaway for me from the entire story is the sheer dedication that Mikhail had to his passion for firearms. This week we are returning to The Rimfire Report for another review in the 10/22 category. Today we’re checking out the new-ish Desert Tech Trek-22 Bullpup 10/22 stock. I’ve been trying to get my hands on one of these for a while and Desert Tech graciously sent me one for testing and review purposes. Today we’ll be checking out the Trek-22 to see what it has to offer rimfire shooters which should give you a good idea of whether or not this is the aftermarket 10/22 product for you.

Boyds Gunstocks is a company that is well known for the sheer amount of options that they have in terms of customization when it comes to their high-quality laminate gunstocks. Their previous list of laminate color options has been slowly growing over the years and today they’ve just announced the addition of their new “Hornet” color variation featuring a grey/yellow pattern.

One of the most hotly anticipated 10/22 accessories from SHOT Show is finally shipping from Desert Tech. Desert Tech officially announced that pre-ordered Trek-22 units had begun leaving the facility on June 16th and that additional orders would also be accepted as production ramps up. The Ruger PC Carbine is a deservedly venerated rifle that comes in a handful of core configurations and numerous other trims and styles. While Nicholas C has completely bastardized his own PC Carbine using a grab bag of Boyd’s Gunstock parts, Magpul and Ruger have teamed up once again to offer the PC Carbine, this time with a Magpul Stealth Gray PC Backpacker stock. This $150 piece of kit is a popular aftermarket option for Ruger PC carbine owners as it takes the rather large footprint of the 9mm carbine and allows it to be neatly stowed in a small bag and even includes accommodation for storing a single pistol magazine. The new Magpul PC Backpacker Stealth Gray option is being made available directly from the Ruger store as a new SKU that costs just a hair less than what you’d expect to pay for the two items individually.

Ranger Point Precision is known for their aftermarket support for lever action guns, and they’ll soon be adding Modular Butt Stocks to fit Marlin and Henry rifles. The new Ranger Point Precision Modular Butt Stocks are made of aluminum and have an adjustable comb height, can accept AR-15 butt plates, and can also accept Ranger Point’s cartridge quivers. Parker Mountain Machine (PMM), well known for their pistol compensators, have recently announced their take on the triangle stock, affectionately named the Trongle Stonk. The Trongle Stonk is based on skeletonized triangle stocks sometimes seen on AK-style rifles, however, this is moreso designed to work with SIG Sauer’s MCX and MPX, but does require a separate hinge. The Trongle Stonk also includes two M-LOK slots on top of the stonk, I mean stock, which could accept a cheek rest.

I have an affinity for older guns. For whatever reason, I simply enjoy shooting guns that have some historical significance, even if it is minor. But this leads to a problem: how do you balance the wear and tear that comes with shooting or carrying an old gun against keeping that gun in good shape? Enter Boyds Gunstocks.

The folks over at Boyds Gunstocks are in the business of refreshing the old and bringing in the new. Boyds laminate gunstocks are in my opinion some of the best aftermarket wood stocks that you can get for the money and they recently sent me over one of their AT-ONE rifle stocks. The Boyds AT-ONE series of stocks is meant to take your old bolt action rifle and breathe new life into it and I personally think the Boys AT-ONE adds a lot of functionality to an otherwise unimpressive and old rifle. For this review, I used an entry-level Remington 770 chambered in .270 Winchester – a popular hunting cartridge down here in the south. Today we’ll go over some of the features of the AT-ONE stock, my experiences with installing it, and how it adds to the value of an otherwise budget-minded hunting rifle and turns it into something more functional for only a couple hundred dollars.

From carbon fiber handguards, roll-wrapped barrels, and composite rifle stocks, you almost can’t avoid the part of a composite firearm in this day and age, and probably for good reason. This week we’ll be featuring some recent deals I’ve discovered on Amazon that involve composite gun parts as well as a few other odds and ends I found that was interesting.

Ruger 10/22 rifles, pistols, and carbines are always fun to tinker with and one of the best ways to get the most customization out of a 10/22 build is to start with a good foundation.  Grey Birch Solutions has launched their flagship product – the Foundation 10/22 modular chassis system that aims to give users the components to build out their 10/22 in nearly any way they see fit while simultaneously giving the user many features already included in the Foundation.

Sweden’s Spuhr i Dalby AB have announced that the Swedish armed forces have ordered an undisclosed additional number of their adjustable stocks for their G3-pattern Ak 4 rifles. This follows the last order in October 2019.

American Built Arms Company (A*B Arms) has added more compatibility to their MOD*X GEN III Modular Rifle System. The MOD*X GEN III is now available for the Bergara B-14 which is Bergara’s performance rifle series featuring their world-renowned Bergara Barrel and 2 lug action.
