In this article, I decided to take a closer look at a cool chunk that I recently installed on my AR15. I of course am talking about the Strike Industries Collar Adjustable Gas Block. Prior to working with this particular adjustable gas block, I had no hands-on experience with them. Since colonial times, Americans have held shooting competitions with rifles used for militia service. These “service rifle competitions” have grown and become formalized into their own sport. Thousands of shooters participate across the country each year, with the national matches held at Camp Perry each summer. Last week we got our hands on the SIG SLX556 QD rifle suppressors (yes, full auto testing is still coming). Today we spend some time with the brand new Rugged Razor556 reduced blowback AR-15 suppressor. I really like the Razor556; let me tell you why.

The market for competition muzzle brakes is a vast one. Multiple manufacturers offer multiple styles, lengths, calibers, thread pitches, etc. Several years ago Alamo 4 Star patented and brought the Cowl Induction Muzzle Brake to market which according to users offered excellent performance. Now years later the TRYBE Cowl Induction Muzzle Brake has been licensed by the manufacturer and is being reintroduced to the market exclusively on Optics Planet.

Anderson Manufacturing is a major producer of AR-15 parts and complete guns. In fact, they made 700,000 lower receivers last year alone. Several new models in their AM-15 line were on display at SHOT Show 2022. Most notably, Anderson is back in the AR pistol market. They have not produced pistols in the last few years, but their new family of AR pistols is bringing that era to an end. These 5.56 and .300 Blackout pistols are available now direct from the manufacturer. Anderson does not name their complete guns (other than a part number), so we will be referring to them by their features.
