Barrett has long been a player in the US Army’s developing Precision Grenadier System program. They took part in some of the precursor competitions which helped refine the program requirements and engage with industry. Barrett previously worked with Mars Inc. who were successful in the xTech Soldier Lethality competition early in 2025. But now it appears they’ll have two horses in the race.

For today’s edition of TFB’s Photo Of The Day, we have pictures of Northrop Grumman’s new Precision Grenadier System (PGS). Designed to be used in a variety of applications, including anti-UAV warfare, this shoulder-fired 25-mm grenade launcher is a semi-automatic firearm fed from 5-round magazines and weighing just under 12 pounds.

Pictured here is the M230LF Dual Feed Bushmaster, which can instantly switch between ammunition paths, enabling operators to seamlessly address targets that require different 30x113mm ammunition types. LF is short for Link Fed.
