A Farewell to SCAR: Was it Really That Amazing?
Recently, TFB reported that FN Herstal is discontinuing all commercial models of FN SCAR. The news hit me like a ton of bricks. Why? Because back in the day, I had a unique chance to see SCAR-H in one of the most demanding weapon trials of the last few decades.
We Accuracy Tested the FN SCAR, SIG MCX-SPEAR, and Steyr DMR
In this video, Martin from Austria Arms and I put three of the most talked-about 7.62 battle rifles head-to-head in a real-world accuracy test. We’re talking the FN SCAR 17 Heavy, the SIG MCX-SPEAR, and the brand-new Steyr DMR. All three are piston-driven, modular rifles from top-tier manufacturers—but how do they actually perform on paper? We shot them side-by-side with the same ammo, from the same distance, and the results might surprise you. One of these rifles is supposed to be 1 MOA accurate. Did it deliver? Did any of them? Watch and find out.
POTD: Kenya Defence Forces With FN SCAR
The mission of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) is to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Kenya. They also support and collaborate with other authorities in responding to emergencies or disasters, like the United Nations. In this Photo Of The Day, you can see them working in their somewhat strange (to me at least) camouflage and FN SCARs.
FN Introduces the FN SCAR 15P In .300 BLACKOUT
FN have announced the introduction of a .300 Blackout chambered addition to their FN SCAR 15P range of pistols, the civilian version of the FN SCAR-SC personal defense weapon. The 15P was announced back in 2022 and we got our hands on one to review in September 2023. The new SCAR pistols will be available in black and flat dark earth finishes and have been optimized for .300BLK with a gas regulator with settings for subsonic and supersonic ammunition, a .30 caliber flash hider and a dedicated magazine.
