This is the BattleSteel ARM Brace for Glock Gen5 pistols, designed to improve shooting stability and control. Compatible with 9mm and .40SW models such as the Glock 17, 19X, and 22, it features an adjustable length of pull from 11 to 14 inches for a customizable fit.

With arm braces once again on the menu thanks to a court injunction, SB Tactical has released a new model. The SBA5 is adjustable through five positions and will fit most common large-format pistols. Let’s see how it compares to its predecessors.

A lawsuit spearheaded by the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) has secured a preliminary injunction against the ATF arm brace ban. What exactly does that mean? And who does that apply to? This is all still a little unclear, but let’s take a look at this case and what might be on the horizon.

Magpul has expanded their lineup of stabilizing arm braces with the new BDA brace. It is fixed in a single position, unlike their other arm braces.

When it comes to 2020 and firearms regulations 2020 has been quite the roller coaster ride. Actually, that is not accurate; a roller coaster is fun and ATF regulations are not. A few weeks ago, we discussed the ATF  contradicting previous determinations of SB Tactical braces, and most recently the Buy Build Shoot kits from  Polymer 80. Well, in recent news, the ATF seems to be formalizing plans for a pistol brace ruling. A few days ago they released a draft detailing a proposed “re-imagination” of pistol braces on firearms.

In lieu of the recent news of ATF taking another look at firearms with braces, F5 MFG is coming out with an ACR brace to convert an ACR stock into a brace. F5 MFG is known for their soda can launcher. While it is not the XS Products can launcher, it is a similar product. I actually bought one last year in Vegas from Ventura Munitions while I was in town for SHOT Show 2019.

Earlier this year Recover Tactical debuted their new 20/20 Stabilizer kit and holster at SHOT Show 2020. Their brace works with 9mm and 40SW Glock models that come with a rail. A few months ago they also released their new  MG9 Angled Grip and Glock Mag Holder. As the name implies, the MG9 is an angled grip that can attach to any standard Picatinny rail that also doubles as a Glock magazine holder. SB Tactical has announced a few new products to the general market at Shot Show this week. There were a few new options from them with a new side-folding triangle brace for the AK and an aluminum-bodied FS1913 Brace. Let’s take a look at both options and see what’s new about them.

If you are a fan of the CZ Scorpion, the Sig MPX, pistol caliber AR15’s, or short barrel gas guns you will most likely be a fan of the new Gear Head Works Tail Hook.  The MOD One is a stand-alone end plate for your AR15 style pistol stock.  The MOD two is a complete kit including proprietary buffer tube and the stock with built-in Tail Hook.

The folks over at Dead Foot Arms just announced they have a telescoping brace in the works for use with bufferless pistols. Dead Foot Arms are the guys who make the MCS (Modified Cycle System), a short operating system and folder for the AR-15. Dead Foot Arms posted on their Instagram page a sneak peak of their new G-REX Telescoping Brace.

SB Tactical announced the company was now offering arm braces for the Remington TAC-14 and the Mossberg 590 Shockwave firearms. These two guns are similar to shotguns since they both fire shotgun shells, but have shorter barrels and other size specifications that make them plain firearms instead of shotguns or handguns.

Zenith has quickly become the king of the roller locked sub guns thanks to them offering the most correct version of this firearm available in the US. The new arm brace version comes at a rather opportune time with the ATF’s reversal of their position in regards to the use of an arm brace.

SB Tactical, known for giving the ATF a headache and us poor pistol owners a practical “brace”, is at it yet again with their plan to dominate the Modern Sporting Pistol market. This time, SB Tactical has teamed up with Maxim Defense to release an adjustable arm brace modeled on the Maxim Defense CQB Stock. 

In either a stroke of clairvoyance or lunacy, the ATF arbitrarily decided one in the favor of gun owners with the new approved arm braces by SB Tactical. Of note, the new braces are attached to collapseable rails to create a multi-functional arm “braces” which are legal for any civilian in the United States to attach to a “pistol”. As Tim points out, pistols have advantageous legal characteristics such as not having to apply to cross state lines.

After a brief hiatus as a single part, Sig Sauer has announced that it is selling the Arm Braces as individual parts. Previously, Sig Sauer had made the change that the arm brace was sold only as a complete package including extension, nut, plate, and brace.
