Volker Precision has been working to expand the Beretta 92/M9 aftermarket options for a couple years now. They recently announced their newest products with the Beretta 92 Magwell attachment and their magazine base plates. These new additions join Volker Precision’s other Beretta 92 aftermarket parts, such as their Flat Faced Trigger, grip panels, and the Enhanced Slide Stop.

Dave Lauck of D&L Sports is now offering heavy duty sights for Colt Python and Anaconda revolvers, much like what he’s already provided for Smith & Wesson revolvers that we covered earlier on TFB. The new Colt revolver heavy duty sights are fixed, and feature a U notch in the rear sight. The heavy duty sights from D&L Sports can also be custom ordered to include tritium inserts.

Midwest Industries Inc. recently announced their three new parts for the Benelli M4 shotgun, also known as the M1014 as named for the United States Marines. The new products Midwest Industries dished out are an optic mount, specifically for an Aimpoint T and H series red dot sights, an enhanced charging handle, and an M-LOK handguard. Obsolete Arms just announced that they were doing a run of aftermarket grips for the Kimber K6s revolver, but their grip is heavily influenced by Beaumont-Adams revolvers from the 1850s. Obsolete Arms’ new K6s grips will be CNC cut from Peruvian Walnut, Padouk, and Purpleheart wood. William at Obsolete Arms stressed that the grips seen in the photos were not finished yet as he had taken them straight from the CNC and took a trip to the range to try them out.

Dust covers are just little flaps that are fun to play with, right? While they are fun to open and close while you sit and watch your favorite episode of He-Man, dust covers play an essential role in maintaining your firearm. Most, however, are simply a tight-fitting piece of metal or plastic. Strike Industries has taken things one step further. They have added more capability to their previously released Ultimate Dust Cover by adding an “overmolded rubberized soft sealing lip”. With the modularity of the AR-15 and AR-10 systems, there is an endless number of potential sling attachment points. One of the more popular ways to attach a sling to the rear of the rifle is to run it to the endplate. Strike Industries has now released their Multi-Function End Plate and Anti-Rotation Castle Nut.

When the Gen5 Glocks were announced, reactions were a mixed bag. Some people welcomed changes like the flared magwell, while others either didn’t want it or thought it wasn’t enough. Well, for the people who wanted more flare in their lives, a new option now exists. True to themselves, Strike Industries has released a sharp, minimalistic magwell for Gen5 Glock 19/23 frames. This is the Strike Industries GEN5 Magwell.

Based in Phoenix, AZ, McMillan Fiberglass Stocks offers aftermarket stocks for a long list of actions. They have offerings for hunting, tactical, and competition applications. Using their popular A-10 stock as a base, McMillan has recently developed and released the Z-10 Bag Rider. So, what’s the difference?

VZ Grips has announced that they’ve added the Ruger SP101 to their line up of grips offerings, including three different texture styles.  Each texture style has four color options; black, black cherry, black grey, and hyena brown.  VZ Grips stated that the Ruger SP101 grips will be the first in their Ruger line up, and also teased that the Ruger GP100 was coming soon.

There seems to be an ever-increasing flow of Glock aftermarket slides for potential consumers, and Grey Ghost Precision have announced two additional slide patterns for the Glock 17 and 19 for their GGP-17 and GGP-19 product line.

Recently, I ran across a fantastic article from training John Farnam on his perspective on the use of aftermarket drop-in barrels on Glock handguns ( can be found here). In general, I agree with much of what he has said, but I think its a little too much blanket advice with not enough information.

Lone Wolf Distributors, one of the original and possibly the ultimate authority on aftermarket Glock components, has quietly introduced color options on their “Ultimate Adjustable Trigger”. Originally released in bare aluminum silver color only, the new colors are a welcome addition to anyone like myself who enjoys shooting custom firearms. Color plays a major role in the custom firearm process.

While there is a plethora of companies offering to do modifications to the base firearm, manufacture accessories, or do various custom machining work, few focus on the magazine of a given firearms. Outside of the option to develop and produce a new magazine, few spend the time to modify existing designs.

In what many a fan of the platform will exclaim “Finally!”, the aftermarket has stepped up with firing-hand compatible tube selector for the Kel-Tec KSG bullpup shotgun. The product of a Plymoth, Massachusetts company called “Solutions De Innovation LLC” the “Feed Tube Selector Switch” (FTSS) was designed to solve a weapons manipulation problem that has beset the KSG since its introduction.

I wonder if Remington knew at the Model 700’s introduction that it would become the preeminent open platform in the bolt-action world. Yes, many will argue that it has it weaknesses (especially from the factory), but the base pattern has exploded in popularity with a huge and growing aftermarket for everything, including triggers, actions, barrels, and stocks.
