TFB’s Photo Of The Day is kind of simplistic. Every day we present our readers with at least one photo. The subject is always a firearm of some kind, preferably with some action around it. But we’re happy with an edited still-life photo as well, and as this photo appeared in my social media flow, I felt an urge to share it. The image is taken by Cory Chilton and used with his kind permission. We’re looking at a .243 Winchester that he built himself using Aero and Magpul components, with a 22″ barrel from Columbia River/BHW.

In this segment of Photo-of-the-Day (POTD), one of my co-writers Hyracha tipped me off to this very interesting story that you will soon read. Accurate Ordnance LLC, a company out of Georgia, shared this entertaining, but concerning tale on their Facebook page.

Franchi has introduced a new bolt action rifle to the US market. It is called Momentum. Earlier Franchi released a very similar rifle called Horizon. Momentum has some minor differences like a fluted bolt shaft. Most likely, Momentum is the designation of the Horizon rifles exported to the USA.

Introduced earlier this year, the Mauser M18 rifle was brought to the SHOT Show 2018. This rifle is clearly marketed to be an affordable offering from the German manufacturer. Even its slogan suggests that: “The People’s Rifle”.

PROOF Research makes a bolt action rifle called Switch which allows to relatively quickly convert it to one of the popular short action calibers by changing the barrel and bolt head.
