Springfield Armory SA-35 Gets an Eye-Catching Polished Blued Finish

Springfield Armory has given the SA-35 a finish that earns a second look. This version of the pistol wears a deep, lustrous polished blue across its carbon steel frame and slide, and checkered walnut grips with natural grain complete the picture. It is the "wood and steel" look of classic arms making, polished until it catches the light.

Underneath, the pistol is the same modern take on John Moses Browning's original P-35 that made the SA-35 family popular. Subtle but significant upgrades give today's shooters a revered classic with current features. Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing at Springfield Armory, says the mix of classic styling and modern enhancements made the SA-35 an immediate hit, and the polished finish adds even more appeal for everyday carry users.

The frame and slide are forged carbon steel, and all of the forged steel parts are made in the U.S.A. The 4-inch barrel is cold hammer forged with a 1:10 twist and has the improved feed ramp design that helps the pistol run reliably with modern defensive ammunition. A factory-tuned trigger, improved ergonomics and enhanced controls bring the Browning layout up to date, and the sights are a white dot front and a serrated Tactical Rack rear. A 15-round magazine feeds the pistol, and the recoil system is the SA-35 recoil spring and guide rod.

A double-zipper handgun case comes in the box. The soft-sided shell protects the pistol during transport, and an interior pouch holds an additional magazine. MSRP is $799, and the SKU is HP9205.

Reminiscent of the old FN Browning High Power pistols of the past. That's the finish I would prefer, and I hope it proves popular for SAI.

Probably will be my next acquisition. I have an original with great sentimental value. It needs to go in a display case.
