The 7mm Backcountry cartridge, known for its short-barrel efficiency and suppressor-friendly performance, will see three new loadings: Core-Lokt 175-grain, Core-Lokt Tipped 175-grain, and Premier Long Range Speer Impact 175-grain. Built with proprietary Peak Alloy cases, these rounds deliver high velocities and consistent performance, even from compact rifle barrels.
Remington is also introducing Subsonic Rifle loadings with Boat-tail Hollow Points (BHP) in 360 Buckhammer 250-grain, 308 Winchester 190-grain, and 45-70 Government 300-grain. These subsonic cartridges are optimized for use with suppressors, providing controlled velocities while maintaining terminal performance.
The Core-Lokt PSP line receives new rifle cartridges in 300 Blackout 130-grain, 6.5mm PRC 140-grain, and 7mm PRC 175-grain. These Pointed Soft Point bullets combine a traditional cup-and-core design with a locked jacket to maximize weight retention and expansion. For handgun hunters, Remington introduces the Hard Cast line in 10mm 200-grain, 44 Rem. Mag. 260-grain, 357 Mag 180-grain, and 9mm Luger +P 145-grain, featuring waxed-groove alloy bullets for deep penetration and nickel-plated cases for reliability. Core-Lokt Handgun JHP is also added in 45 Long Colt 237-grain, offering a classic hollow-point design for hunting revolvers.
These new rounds and more will be displayed at the 2026 SHOT Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, from January 20-23 at Booth 11838.

The year 2026 seems to be the year of the suppressor, and it will be interesting to follow how manufacturers of ammunition follow.

It would be nice to see if those 130 grain 300 BLK loads are any good for whitetail.
