POTD: Platypus - The 1911 That Takes Glock Magazines

Apart from an appearance in TFB’s HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP (where else?), the Stealth Arms 1911 Platypus completely went past TFB when it was released. This is an excellent opportunity for TFB’s Photo Of The Day, hence what you’re looking at and reading about right now.

Apart from the color (which is customizable) what’s so special about this 1911? Well, it is actually compatible with Glock 17 magazines in 9x19 mm. It does this while maintaining the 1911 grip angle.

There are of course other models available of this pistol. Like the one below, called the “Crowd Pleaser”.

If you missed the article here’s another chance: HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? The 2011 Unicorn or Brightness Settings Be Warned?. It seems about 65% of the voters chose FUDD CRAP.

I don’t own a 1911, but I do own a lot of Glock 17 magazines. Perhaps this is the 1911 for me? The basic model is priced at $1,400.00.
