Don’t Buy These 5 Pistols as Your First Gun

The 5 Worst First Pistols to Buy: A quick, blunt, and useful guide for new shooters who want to avoid the common first-gun mistakes. I break down the five categories of handguns you should skip as a beginner, explain why they wreck fundamentals and confidence, and show better alternatives like a quality 9mm, a dedicated .45 Colt revolver if you insist, or a fun .22LR. Whether you are buying your first handgun for the range, home defense, or concealed carry this video will save you time and money and point you to sensible first-gun choices.

that was a lot about nothing!

Buy a full size that you can shoot and get the correct holster and GUN belt and LEARN to carry it.

I carry a full sized double stack Kimber Polymer Target in 45 ACP. THe GUN belt is more important then the holster in the sense that it keeps the holster/gun from MOVING and chafing you.

PAY ONCE, cry once (and only once)

I have a S&W Governor. Although not the best for a new shooter, it does have advantage. One advantage that you didn't mention ishow having the ability to shoot more than one ammo can be an advantage when ammo is scarce. Back when ammo was so hard to find, I couldn't find .45 ACP or .410 shotgun. But I was able to find .45 Colt.

And you mentioned birdshot, but I've had good luck with larger birdshot like #4. The pattern is decent at room distances, enough to do the trick for self defense and close range in a home. And when you need to reload, reloading the Governor with .45 ACP moon clips is faster for me than using a speed loader.
