NRAAM 2024 is all wrapped up and in the books. This year we didn’t see a whole bunch of groundbreaking releases or entirely new products but instead, we saw a lot of revival product lines. Today on the Podcast, Hop and I go over some of our observations about social media and its influence on the firearms industry, as well as our thoughts and opinions about which subsectors of the firearms community are driving most of the trends and sales that we’re seeing. Magpul added another crop of new items to their catalog for 2024, just like they do every year, but this time it’s not just AR stocks and grips. First up, they have a new set of grip modules for the SIG P320 to go along with their P320-compatible AMAGs. Second, Magpul joins the year of the lever action with stocks and handguards for several patterns of lever guns. Hop and Luke visited to check them out but this time they got permission first.

Luke C is back for day 3 of the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits to talk with Shield Arms about some of their latest products and services. Today Seth shares Shield Arms’ new ROC (Revolver Optics Conversion) mount – a no-mill option that easily attaches to your J-Frame revolvers (like the S&W 442) giving you an instant optics solution for iron-sighted revolvers. Shield Arms is also showcasing their new Split Rig – an easy on-and-off chest rig perfect for shooting prone, and finally their Grip Chop service for the Glock 48 and 43X. This service shaves off just enough of the grip to fit the new Shield Arms 10-round flush fit mag made specifically for their Grip Chop – Did they just invent the Glock 43X/48 SF?

Luke C joins legendary competitive speed shooter Jerry Miculek at the 2024 NRA Show to talk about his new custom revolver from Smith & Wesson – the Model 327 WR. The Model 327 WR is a 9mm revolver with a lot of high-end lightweight materials baked into the design to make it lighter and quicker to handle in tandem with Jerry’s custom slick polished grips. Join Luke and Jerry today as they talk about the reasoning behind all of these design decisions for this special revolver celebrating his World Record (WR) revolver speed shooting achievements.

Join and Dead Air’s Mike Pappas as they go through the gamut of brand new Dead Air suppressors including the never-before-seen Lazarus 6mm ARC compatible suppressor, as well as the new NOMAX 33 .33 caliber lightweight beast. Over the last few months, Streamlight has been quietly stepping up the output on a number of their weapon lights. The latest model to get this treatment is the TLR-7; the new TLR-7 HL-X is a dual-fuel version of Streamlight’s weapon light for compact handguns and has more lumens and candela than the previous version. Hop stopped by the Streamlight booth at NRAAM 2024 to check out their new crop of lights.

Luke C is at the National Rifle Association’s 153rd Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Dallas, Texas checking out the new BOE Suppressors booth and their new user-serviceable nested monocore modular suppressor – the BOE Mod-1. The Mod-1 is a modification of their Ultra Compact Suppressor lineup. Like their predecessors, the Mod-1 lineup is rated for magnum hunting calibers like 375 H&H or 338RUM. The Mod-1 lineup has improved thermal dispersion, has thicker wear surfaces and can be configured to fit any aftermarket QD setup with 1.375-24 threads. BOE Model-1 should be available for purchase for around $1,200 around the end of June 2024.

Luke C is back on the floor at NRAAM 20204 talking with Jess from Colt about some of their new revolvers. In addition to a new 8″ long variant of the ever-popular Python line of revolvers, Colt is also re-releasing and updating the compact Viper, and introducing two new Bear-themed revolvers with the new Kodiak and Grizzly magnum revolvers.

Glock has finally added the 17L back to their lineup! New for 2024 the longest variant of 9mm Glock is now available with the Gen 5 upgrades and the MOS optics cut system. Hop stopped by the Glock booth at NRAAM 2024 to check out the Glock 17L Gen 5 MOS.

In this episode of TFBTV Show Time, Hop and Phil Strader struggle with technology and respecting personal space. The new SIG Connect app works in conjunction with a sensor module and reactive targets that sense hits and relay them to your phone to track hits, scores, and timing. The app has built-in drills and games that work with SIG’s special reactive targets, but it can also be used to track hits on any printable target. The former is mostly aimed at indoor shooting ranges that may want to add a special challenge to one of their lanes, while the latter is more suited for the individual shooter.

In this episode of TFBTV Show Time, Hop visits the Smith & Wesson booth at NRAAM 2024 to check out the new short barreled .300 Blackout version of the S&W/Gemtech GVAC upper. The GVAC system is a bore evacuator that significantly reduces gas blowback to the shooter’s face, which works well in conjunction with Gemtech’s new reduced back pressure suppressor series.

In this episode of TFBTV, Hop visits Taurus to check out their new Taurus and Heritage revolvers for 2024. The Taurus offerings include a single action only cowboy gun in .45 Colt and .357 Magnum, as well as a new 856 TORO chambered in .327 Federal Magnum. Taurus’ sister company Heritage has a new retro detective-style snub-nose revolver with a little noir flair.

[Luke is at NRAAM 2024 in Dallas, Texas checking out the Fusion Firearms booth and their brand new 2011-style pistol that takes Glock mags. The Fusion Firearms 20X11 pistol is currently available in a 4.5” model but will soon be expanded to include 5” variants. Each 20×11 is compatible with Glock OEM and aftermarket 17 round magazines and retails for about $1,100 making it a more affordable option for those seeking a 2011-style pistol.

After a long hiatus, Barrett has reintroduced the REC7 DI! In this episode of TFBTV Show Time, Hop stops by the Barrett booth to check out the new version of the REC7 and how Barrett has updated it. Can the REC7 hang with the new crop of ARs? Time will tell.

In this episode of TFBTV Show Time, Hop visits the Shadow Systems booth at the NRA Annual Meeting 2024 to check out the new CR920X. This is a new version of the CR920 micro double stack, with a longer grip that can accommodate a 15-round flush fit magazine or an 18-round extended magazine. The CR920X still has the same optics cut compatible with K-cut red dots, and is available as the flagship Elite model or the more entry-level Foundation model.

Today Luke C.​⁠ is with Matt from Warbird Protection to talk about their line of safety equipment, specifically their soft body armor which Matt has tested himself. Soft body armor is typically capable of stopping most handgun rounds up to and including the .44 Magnum. As you’ll see in today’s video, just like his dad, Matt is dedicated to proving that his body armor is not only NIJ-certified but capable of stopping bullets in real life through a live demonstration.

In this video, Hop is at NRAAM to check out the new Taurus TX22 TORO. This is a combination of all the best elements of the TX22 lineup, pairing the slide-mounted optic of the TX22 Compact with the heavier barrel of the TX22 Comp. And just for good measure, it comes with a new 22-round extended magazine.

Luke is catching up with Ranko from Zastava Arms USA at NRAAM 2023 to check out the new M92 Rifle – the closest thing you can get to a Serbian Krink! The new Zastava M92 rifle is in all actuality an M92 pistol that has been fitted with one of Zastava’s underfolding stocks, as well as a pinned and welded barrel extension to meet the minimum length requirements the ATF currently has outlined for the M92 Rifle to not be considered an SBR. The M92 Rifle will be available within a month or two and will be less than $1,500 MSRP.

Luke C. is back at the Ruger booth at NRAAM 2023 to talk to Brandon about the newest iteration of the Mark IV Lite 22/45 rimfire pistol lineup. This new version of the Mark IV Lite not only comes with its fresh yearly stylized look, this time Ruger is now including an RMSc pattern direct mount optic rail from the factory.

Luke C. is stopping by the Ruger booth at NRAAM 2023 to check out the new Ruger Super Wrangler that was released just shortly before the start of the NRA Annual Meetings. The new Ruger Super Wrangler combines some of the best features of the more expensive Single Six line of revolvers and the ruggedness and pricing of the Wrangler series to give customers a versatile plinking, hunting, and target-shooting single-action revolver.

In this video Hop braves the crowds to visit the Ruger booth at NRAAM 2023, to take a look at the new Ready Dot. This is a fiber optic powered pistol red dot that has no electronic components and doesn’t even have an adjustable zero. While intended for use with the Ruger MAX-9, the Ready Dot should also work with any pistol that has the Shield RMS-C optic cut.

C&H Precision, best known for making optics adapter plates and slide milling for direct mounting. New for 2023, they are introducing a complete range of pistol optics including an enclosed duty red dot, a large window competition focused dot, and an enclosed micro dot for concealed carry pistols.

This year at NRAAM 2023, Luke C stopped by the CMC Triggers booth to check out their new “Yella Jacket” CCT Single Stage AK47 triggers. These two new improved variants of the near drop-in ready triggers feature stronger hammer pressures to compensate for some of the harder primers found on certain brands of 7.62x39mm ammunition. SIG-Sauer made their first show appearance in a while at NRAAM 2023 with a new P320 variant, the AXG Legion. In this video Hop talks to SIG’s Phil Strader about the new pistol. The new P320 AXG Legion adds the Spectre integrated slide compensator to the AXG frame, with a little Legion series flair.

Luke C is at the 2023 NRA Annual Meetings and Expo checking out Shield Arms’ new folding stock 9mm pistol caliber carbine – the Shield Arms SA-9. The SA-9 takes the proprietary Shield Arms lower and combines it with some of the industries leading rifle component manufacturers to give their customers an improved folding AR experience.

The Anderson Dissipator carbine was an unexpected hit at the Primary Arms Range Day 2023, and NRAAM 2023. In this video, Hop sneaks into the Anderson booth unsupervised to take a closer look at it.

New for 2023, MarColMar is introducing a variant of the CETME-L in .300 Blackout. In this video, Hop stops by the MarColMar booth at NRAAM 2023 to check it out. This is one of the vanishingly few roller delay guns in .300 BLK, however, there are some quirks to suppressing roller guns to consider.

SAR makes handguns for the Turkish military and special forces, and they also make concealed carry guns for the US market. Hop stopped by the SAR USA booth at NRA Annual Meeting 2023 to check out the new Gen 2 and Gen 3 SAR optics ready carry guns, and the SAR9 SOCOM pistol designed for Turkish SF.

Luke C is on the scene at NRA 2023 to check out Kimber’s new ultra-light, ultra-slim, double-action single-action revolver, the K6xs. The K6xs not only improves the carry weight and profile of the revolver, but it also adds back useful features like an improved set of sights over other short-barreled revolvers.

New for 2023, Kimber has introduced a double stack optics ready 9mm 1911. The new KD9SC is high capacity alloy framed 1911, with an optics plate system that accepts multiple patterns of red dots including the Holosun K optics.
