If you are feathering that fine line of you want a carry pistol, but you want ALL the ammunition. Additionally, if you are a Hellcat Pro owner (which firmly places you on that line of “carry size” and “capacity”), then you will be glad to hear that Springfield Armory is now offering extended 17-Round Hellcat Pro magazines in Desert FDE (Flat Dark Earth) as well as traditional black.

Springfield Armory @ TFB

All of your standard Hellcat Pro permutations will hold 15 rounds with their factory, flush-fit magazine attached. With the introduction of this slightly-boosted capacity magazine, you now have an additional 2 rounds on board giving your carry gun as many rounds (if not more) than most full-size labeled pistols. Springfield Armory proudly shares this announcement via their press release below:

Geneseo, Illinois (09/01/23) – Springfield Armory® is proud to announce the launch of a new 17-round magazine for the Hellcat® Pro family of 9mm pistols.

‘At its launch in early 2022, the Hellcat Pro quickly established itself as a pre-eminent 9mm EDC pistol for discerning users,’ says Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. ‘And with the addition of this new 17-round magazine, it has the benefit of even more capacity in a still extremely concealable package.’

The 17-round Hellcat Pro magazines in both Desert FDE and Black iterations fall in at an MSRP of $42.99 placing them in a similar territory to most all of Springfield’s magazine offerings. While the 17-round Hellcat Pro magazine might seem like only a small bump in capacity to some, I like that Springfield is broadening their portfolio and offering more to Hellcat owners. As always, let us know all of your thoughts on the new extended Hellcat Pro magazines in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
