Springfield Armory XD-M Elite 4.5″ OSP 10mm – Lethal Power & Capacity
If there is one “old cartridge” that has seen a resurgence in recent years it is absolutely the stalwart 10mm. Known for its stopping POWAH [insert Arnold Schwarzenegger voice], many hunters seek out a good 10mm handgun for defense against bears and others use it for self-defense against nefarious 2-legged critters. Another element people aim for is capacity and Springfield Armory looks to deliver both in their newest XD-M Elite offering of a 4.5″ OSP (Optical Sight Pistol) 10mm now unveiled!

The XD-M line of handguns is meant to embody an Xtreme Duty Match firearm, and the Elite line kicks it up a notch further yet. Some of the features the XD-M Elite series of handguns afford you are an optics-ready/optics-equipped format, Match Enhanced Trigger Assembly (META Trigger), interchangeable backstraps, and even interchangeable flared and beveled magwells. Upgrades normally relegated to the user applying after-the-fact are distilled into this factory line of handguns.
With the new XD-M Elite 10mm coming out, you have 2 options to get that stopping POWAH: optics-ready or optics-equipped with a Hex Dragonfly Red Dot. All of the specifications for the sans red dot 10mm are listed below as presented by Springfield Armory:

The MSRP for the base 10mm is $653 while the Hex Dragonfly Red Dot equipped version punches in at $837. I put one on layaway yesterday. I regretted not picking up an XD-M when they were available. Loved the way the 4.5 handled and thought it would make a perfect carry 10mm. I thought I'd be grabbing one of the new M&Ps but the weak trigger reset just didn't do it for me. Glad Springfield brought these out.
I am waiting on the resurgence of the Podbyrin 9.2 mm.
