In a revolver market filled with traditional designs, the Chiappa Rhino 30DS X Stainless Steel stands out as a bold innovation. Crafted for shooters who value precision, recoil control, and cutting-edge engineering, this firearm is described as more than Chiappa’s flagship, as a new standard for performance. The Rhino’s defining feature is its low-bore axis, aligning the barrel with the cylinder’s bottom chamber to drastically reduce muzzle flip and felt recoil. This design delivers an intuitive shooting experience, especially in its 3-inch snub-nose configuration, making it ideal for concealed carry, range use, or collectors seeking something unique.

Built entirely from stainless steel, the 30DS X balances durability and carry comfort at just under 2.75 pounds and 7.5 inches long. Its matte finish minimizes glare, while G10 grips ensure superior control, and a fiber-optic adjustable sight system offers pinpoint accuracy in bright light. The Rhino’s angular, futuristic look blends classic revolver essence with innovative design.

Every detail is said to reflect Chiappa’s commitment to function. The internal hammer, cocking indicator, and double-action/single-action trigger provide modern usability with classic reliability. A fitted leather holster and three moonclips complete the package, emphasizing its ready-to-use appeal. Precision-machined in Italy with premium materials, the 30DS X is described as offering exceptional value for its elite performance and durability.

Whether for personal defense or as a standout collectible, the Chiappa Rhino 30DS X delivers unmatched control and presence.

I got one and love it, only real criticism for it is that it shoots high past 15 yards. So high you aim below your target to hit it.

This makes no sense in 3" configuration.

In that configuration, you want the traditional aluminum because you probably don't want to lug a 2.75" gun around all day.

This should be available in 5 and 6" with the top strap rail for ICORE competitors and handgun hunters.

Honestly if you have in any holster attached to a belt it doesn't feel heavy at all. In the hand it feels pretty lightweight, probably due to all that mass being fairly close to your wrist, last revolver I shot a while back before 30DS-X was a 6" GP-100 and it *felt* heavier even though it's just under half an ounce lighter than the 30DS-X. That being said I would have went with a 6" variant first as well. I'll buy one of each variant they make.
