With the driven hunt season just around the corner, Zeiss seems to be on fire with new releases for all sorts of hunting and sports shooting. Just a few days ago, the Zeiss LRP S5 FFP Precision Rifle Scope was released, and it’s now time for the Zeiss V8 family of riflescopes to get an upgrade. Zeiss V8 1.1 – 8×24, V8 2.8 – 20×56, V8 2.8 – 20×56 and V8 4.8 – 35×60 models all get their share with a downsizing of the center tube diameter (now 30/34 mm) while keeping the generous eye box they’re famous for. There is also a new reticle called 43.

To begin with I think most, if not all, AR15s should be able shoot 1 MOA groups. Unfortunately they don’t, and sometimes even the best rifle just won’t marry whatever ammunition your using. But here’s proof that this competition rifle is up for it.

Mr. Teemu Rintala is the Nordic Champion in IPSC Rifle 2016 and shoots for the GP Rifle Team. He just got the (fairly) new Swarovski Z8i 1-8x scope with the two different reticles BRT-I and LD-I to compare and he allowed TFB to share his views and photos.

We all love shooting and hitting our targets. Some of us have gone beyond shooting cans behind the barn to hitting targets far, far out. Others go all in in practical shooting, with IPSC hangdun/rifle /shotgun or 3 Gun.

Of all things on the AR-15, the original charging handle is probably one of the first things to break if it isn’t treated right. Sure, if you use two fingers, as I’m sure the design intended, and pull 50-50 on each side it’s hardly going to brake. However if you’re lazy, or the opposite, trying to charge your rifle and get a stage win in practical shooting by applying all the force to one side, then the original charging handle is a clever thing to upgrade.
