Arm The Horde! The New ORC II From Bushmaster Firearms
The original Bushmaster ORC (Optics Ready Carbine) was a simple, hard-use, flat-top AR that offered no real frills and could be had at a very low asking price leaving more room in your budget for optics and other accessories. Fast forward to today and the tastes and requirements that most people have these days when it comes to hard-use rifles have changed a bit, and that’s why Bushmaster has revamped the ORC with new features including modern handguards, as well as several different configurations that still keep the cost low, but improve key areas of the rifle that are often upgraded first.
Gun Review: Bushmaster XM15 QRC-OR
I don’t remember exactly when I formed the belief that Bushmaster was not a high quality platform. I remember as far back as 1999 not having a high opinion. Certainly at that time I really had NO basis for comparison, and had not had more than a couple hundred rounds through any AR-15 type rifle. I’m assuming that the people I associated with at the time were not fans, and thus I was not a fan.
Bushmaster .308 ORC (Optical Ready Carbine)
I think Bushmaster is on to a real winner with their new AR-10 style carbine. Priced at just $1395 it is a fantastic entry-level rifle.
