Strike Modular Chassis Aluminum Handguard Rail for the PS90
Strike Industries has introduced the Strike Modular Chassis Aluminum Handguard Rail, a new accessory that expands mounting options for the Strike PS90 Chassis platform. Constructed from high-strength 6-series aluminum, the handguard rail is engineered for durability, adaptability, and lightweight performance. The design is intended to withstand demanding use while maintaining alignment, and its reduced weight helps limit unnecessary bulk.
FN Adds New 5.7×28 Ammunition Offerings
The 5.7×28 renaissance continues with two new ammo options from FN. One is the SS200 defensive load available to civilian and governmental purchasers alike, and the other is a more affordable training load. Let’s dive into the specifics.
HOT GAT or FUDD CRAP? Beast Bullpup or Fudd Throw Up?
Welcome everyone to the 23rd edition of ‘Hot Gat or Fudd Crap?’, one of our many series here on TFB. If you’re new to the series, this is where we look at the most obscure firearms that are actually for sale and ask the question – is this gat a sweet deal or does it only have fudd appeal? Each week the TFB staff weighs in with their thoughts, but readers get the final say in the poll at the bottom of each article.
Dan Haga Designs Aluminum PS90 M-LOK Handguards
Dan Haga Designs is specialized in making accessories for firearms that don’t have much aftermarket support such as the FN PS90 carbine ( the civilian version of FN P90). The company has recently made two announcements on their social media pages. First, they have launched a website (www.danhagadesigns.com) where the customers now can directly order from. And second, the aluminum version of their PS90 M-LOK handguard is now available for purchase.
Strike Industries Ring Sights For PS/P90 Are Now Available!
Strike Industries has just released a series of integrated Ring Sights for the FN Herstal PS90 civilian rifle, and P90 submachine gun. There are four different versions, each one different from another in terms of power options, reticles, and back up power configurations. Strike claims that the largest advantage over going with a proprietary integrated sighting option over a Picatinny mounted sight is that the ring sights will allow a shooter to gain a more natural and better cheek weld than with a Picatinny mounted version that will raise the sight up. In addition, the integrated solution is drop tested to NATO standards and should theoretically be slightly more rugged than a Picatinny solution because it is actually integrated into the submachine gun/rifle. All models are secured to the submachine gun/rifle via replacing the standard factory sights or the Picatinny rail that comes installed. To adjust these sights, a user has to mechanically adjust the entire sight in its place, rather than any individual clicks through some sort of turret. All the models also come with their appropriate mounting hardware.
FN PS90 – Supreme Bling Edition
Wait. Just hear me out. Before you start yelling at your computer screen or phone about “abominations” or “hideousness” I’d like you to take a closer look at the detail that went into modifying this one-of-a-kind FN PS-90. And yes, this is the real deal, not some airsoft mockup.
Modern Personal Defense Weapon Calibers 001: Introduction, and the 5.7x28mm FN
At this point, we’ve talked about 25 different intermediate and full power calibers as part of a series comparing different types of modern small arms ammunition. However, one subject not yet thoroughly covered is rounds for personal defense weapons (PDWs). These weapons are designed to be smaller and less obtrusive than full size rifles, while being more capable than pistols or submachine guns, particularly with respect to armor penetration.
The FN Five-seveN Pistol (5.7x28mm)
The FN Five-seveN pistol is chambered for the same 5.7x28mm cartridge as the famous P90 PDW, but the short barrel of the pistol results in less velocity. Still, the Five-seveN is perhaps the perfect sidearm for a man using the P90 as a primary. It also makes for a great range gun as the low recoil and nearly absent muzzle flip result is a very pleasant shooting experience. In this installment of TFBTV we do a quick overview of this little gun from FN. The pistol featured has an aftermarket barrel installed.
World's First Implant-Activated Smart Gun
Amal Graafstra has been biohacking since 2000. For those not familiar with biohacking, it is the implantation of a device to interact with technology. The basic ones I have heard of are magnets embedded in finger tips. Other examples involved injecting a small RFID into your skin. That is what Amal has done here. His company, Dangerous Things, sells self inejctable RFIDs. It is considered body augmentation. Coupled with the right technology you can unlock the door to your house with just a wave of your hand.
PS90: Toy or Tool?
The 5.7x28mm cartridge is certainly a divisive round. On one hand, you have people making ludicrously grandiose claims about its effectiveness, while others simply write it off as a gimmick or overpriced .22WMR from Belgium. A long time ago I wrote the PS90 off as a pointless, but fun rifle (having little utility but being a fun range toy) and so decided to run around with it at the ranch for a few different trips up there. So, is it a tool or simply a toy?
P90 Run and Gun (Well, PS90 SBRed)
The P90 is famous for being weird looking. It has made countless appearances in sci-fi flicks, and serious appearances in the hands of groups like the US Secret Service. We have used a lot of firearms on the run and gun course, but none this strange or unconventional. So, how will it perform?
FN PS90 Field Strip (SBR)
The FN Herstal P90 personal defense weapon is one of the strangest looking weapon system on the planet, so it is no wonder that it pops up in so many movies and television shows. The gun feeds from a 50 round magazine and is extremely compact. In this field strip we take down a PS90, the civilian version of the P90, to show what makes it tick!
Weird Magazines, Vol. II: The Hill Submachine Gun
Since the first article received a fairly enthusiastic response, I have decided to continue the series on unusual firearms feeding mechanisms. Many of the devices I will cover are associated with equally interesting firearms, but for the sake of brevity I will be mostly talking about the magazines themselves. One of the more unique and important designs is the Hill H15 submachine gun, which used a transversely mounted magazine of a design that would reappear with the successful FN P90 PDW/SMG. Matt at the Historical Firearms blog writes:
Odd Guns: PS90 SBR
If there ever was a gun that you could use as the poster-child of being aesthetically odd, the P90 and its semi auto counterpart, the PS90 certainly would be very strong candidates. The bullpup design of FN Herstal’s P90 make it look like a science fiction throwback, but if a consumer can get past the odd appearance of the system then they really are getting a fun shooter. The subject of this review will be a semi automatic only PS90 that is a registered short barreled rifle. I would love to have a select fire one, but unfortunately the conversion parts are hard to come by.
FN PS90 Custom Barrel Shroud/Rail
The FN PS90 Carbine is the consumer-legal version of the FN P90 Personal Defense Weapon. The PS90 removes the full auto fire control group and increases the barrel length from 10″ to 16″. The same compact bullpup stock is used on the PS90 as on the original P90, despite a PS90’s longer barrel. The short stock, which was designed for a PDW, not a Carbine, isn’t as ergonomic as it could be and in my opinion it looks awkward with the long barrel protruding so far in front.
