POTD: Special Forces Group of the Peruvian Air Force
Welcome to back Photo Of The Day. Each day, we showcase at least one stunning image that captures the beauty of the world of firearms. Above you see a GRUFE (Special Forces Group of the Peruvian Air Force) Special Operations Defense member dry firing at a target with an FN SCAR-H rifle (with a Schmidt & Bender riflescope) from a FAP Bell 412 helicopter during a helo-borne sniper training mission in support of Resolute Sentinel 2024 at Punta Lobos Air Base, Peru, June 5, 2024.
POTD: FN SCAR-H PR – French Soldiers of Les Verts Company
There’s a huge collection of firearms in TFB’s Photo Of The Day, and if you use the tags, you can search for more FN SCARs – in this case, the French FN SCAR-H PR. Today’s images of this rifle in the hands of French Les Verts Company soldiers are excellent, don’t you agree?
POTD: Meprolight Tigon on FN SCAR
Photo Of The Day: Today we have some futuristic-looking images from SK Group’s Meprolight and their Tigon, a hybrid thermal & red dot sight for day & night target acquisition. As you can see, the Meprolight Tigon is mounted on an FN SCAR.
POTD: FN SCARs at Kenya Joint Combined Exchange Training
Photo Of The Day: During a Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) in Isiolo, Kenya on July 1, 2022, U.S. Marines assigned to Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARSOC) undertake a specialized training exercise alongside Kenyan Army personnel. Above you can see several soldiers using FN SCARs with iron sights and a variety of optics.
POTD: FN Herstal SCAR With All The Perks
The SCAR rifles from FN Herstal are being used by several French units. For instance, the FN SCAR-SC is used by an unnamed unit and recently the French Army selected the SCAR-H PR with an S&B riflescope and Night/Thermal Vision as their next DMR/Sniper Rifle. However the French Commando Units have been using the FN SCAR before this, and this is the subject of our Photo Of The Day.
German Short Range Sniper Rifle (G26) Tender Cancelled
There is so much going on in Germany and their attempts to renew the small arms for their Army at the moment. If you think it’s confusing, you have our sympathies and full understanding. First, it was announced that the Haenel MK556 had won the tender to replace the G36, and within less than a month, the €250 Million order was withdrawn. Until we know what happens next we can only guess, but it seems that the Heckler & Koch G36 is going to be around for a while longer.
POTD: U.S. Green Berets with Cote D'Ivoire Special Forces
Join the U.S. Army, see the World! Or just have a lazy look at TFB’s Photo Of The Day and share the experience. Here we see Green Berets train Special Forces Soldiers from the Côte d’Ivoire in different shooting tactics and medical training. There are a few firearms from IWI here, the top one is a CTAR with a MOR but there are also X95s, probably the L model with M21 optics. Over the five-week training, each soldier got to shoot around 2,500 rounds.
POTD: High-Tech Setups from The International Sniper Competition
Photo Of The Day – We go back to the International Sniper Competition 2019 for a look at a lot of high-tech rifles, lasers and optics.
