Thompson/Center is going full-speed ahead with the reboot of its long gun lineup at the same time that it’s rebooting its Encore ProHunter pistol series. Just before turkey season starts, T/C has a new shotgun barrel option on the market, and as muzzleloader season will be here before you know it (a matter of months for deer hunters, but only weeks away for bear hunters), T/C also has an all-new option for its muzzleloader series. And the new option isn’t exactly your traditional front-stuffer, not even by T/C standards.

As Thompson/Center makes its comeback, one thing that longtime fans of the brand wanted to know was: What about the pistols? And after launching (or is that re-launching?) multiple lines of rifles, Thompson/Center has indeed brought back its hunting-oriented handguns as well, with the Encore ProHunter pistol series rebooted.

Once upon a time, there was a firearms manufacturer that was basically built by, and built for, the fudd market. Then Smith & Wesson bought it and closed it down after seemingly not knowing what to do with it. That company was Thompson/Center, and guess what—they’re back for 2025. They’re just starting to roll out new-production firearms to the market. Here’s what that looks like right now, and what it looks like we can expect in the coming months and years.
