A couple of weeks ago at DSEI 2019, in London, I had the chance to take a look at Colt Canada’s latest offering, a 7.62x51mm semi-automatic precision rifle developed for the Canadian Army. The C20 Semi-Automatic Sniper Weapon builds on the C7/8 family of 5.56x45mm rifles currently in Canadian service following extensive testing.

Earlier this month, at DSEI 2019, I caught up with BCB, the manufacturer of the FRAMM configurable stock that allows users wearing a helmet and visor to shoulder their weapon with or without their visor deployed. They will be soon introducing a new cheek piece for their stock.

Recently the US Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapons program moved into its next phase, with three companies down selected, one of these was SIG Sauer. We had the pleasure of sitting down to speak with SIG Sauer’s CEO, Ron Cohen, at the 2019 Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEI) exposition in London. We were able to discuss SIG Sauer’s next generation of weapons with Cohen and find out a little about the company’s approach to the NGSW program and the development of not only their weapon prototypes but also the ammunition they designed around the US Army’s new 6.8mm projectile.

Hakan Spuhr has been thinking about his new project off and on since 2012. Best known for his Spuhr optics mounts, accessory interfaces and the in-line G3 stock, recently adopted by the Portuguese Navy and the Swedish Army and Home Guard, Spuhr has now unveiled the concept model for his latest project, his attempt to improve the AR-10 platform.

As we have recently reported the US Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapons program has moved into its next phase, with three companies downselected, one of these was SIG Sauer, who had their NGSW prototypes on display at this year’s 2019 Defence & Security Equipment International (DSEI) exposition in London. TFB were on-hand to get our first detailed look at the new family of weapons.

In the picture above we can see FN Herstal’s new full range of cartridges in the 5.56x45mm NATO caliber, these will be shown in London, at the Defense and Security Equipment International Exhibition.
