Photo Of The Day – Any kind of sniping can be ever so challenging, but adding movement and wind from all sorts of directions must surely be as hard as it ever gets. Here we see an Accuracy International AXMC sniper rifle with a Schmidt & Bender 5-45×56 High Power riflescope. I don’t know much about the rifle, but I have the riflescope and it’s pretty sweet. Not sure how my stomach would cope with the waves, I’d probably have to sacrifice to Poseidon a few times.

They are a part of the Royal Netherlands Navy and operate in the Caribbean territories of the Netherlands, which include the islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba, often referred to as the Caribbean Netherlands or the BES islands.

Over the years, the Corps Mariniers have been using the Accuracy AWM, Accuracy International AXMC (like here) in .338 Lapua Magnum. They also have the Barrett M82 anti-materiel rifle.

It’s that time of the year again when some of the best sniper teams in the world gather to compete in the European Best Sniper Team Competition. Above you can spot a Lithuanian soldier as he scans a field for targets in a downed aircraft. The pictures are taken in Hohenfels Training Area, Germany.

The current sniper rifles in the Swedish Army are the PSG90 and the AG90. The AG90 is the Barret M82 in .50 BMG and the PSG90 is made by Accuracy International in .308 Win. The M82 is more of an anti-material rifle than a sniper rifle.

Latvia’s armed forces and border guards are set to receive new Heckler & Koch G36s. On the 11th January, the Latvian Ministry of Defence issued a press release announcing the new contract with the German small arms manufacturer. The 7 year contract, worth 13 million Euros or $16 million, is said to be for both rifles and other types of weapons – probably including H&K’s AG36 40mm grenade launcher, already in Latvian service.
