Langdon Tactical Adds Steyr ATD To Their Product Line

Langdon Tactical Technology (LTT) is expanding its lineup with the LTT Steyr ATD, a pairing of Steyr Arms' modern DA/SA pistol and the custom work the Phoenix, Arizona company is known for. The ATD brings a modular trigger system, an optics-ready slide, an updated decocker, a removable magwell and a redesigned frame and slide. LTT then applies its signature refinements on top.

LTT CEO Ernest Langdon says the ATD caught the team's attention because Steyr approached the DA/SA platform with a fresh perspective instead of simply updating an existing pistol. It gives LTT the chance to apply decades of experience with these systems to a platform built for where shooters are today.

My only “experience” with the ATD is a friend who I trust a lot in this matter, and he said that the original ATD was really accurate and nice to shoot. Steyr guarantees that all ATD pistols will shoot a 50mm (1.97”) or smaller center-to-center group at 25m when fired from a machine rest.

The "Langdonized" treatment centers on the trigger. LTT reduces trigger weight, overtravel and reset, and polishes critical internal components for a smoother, more consistent pull.

Approximate trigger weights are 3.75 to 4.25 lbs in single action and 7.5 to 8.5 lbs in double action. Buyers can choose a flat or curved Match Trigger.

The pistol also includes six optic plates, a removable magwell and an integrated slide release and decocker.

The ATD comes in two configurations:

  • LTT Steyr ATD: the standard configuration with LTT trigger work and a choice of flat or curved Match Trigger
  • LTT Steyr ATD Comp: adds Steyr's factory porting while keeping all the LTT upgrades of the standard model (pictured below).

Both are chambered in 9mm with a 4-inch barrel and an optics-ready slide. Each ships with two 18-round magazines, one 20-round magazine, additional hammer and recoil springs, a removable magwell and six optic plates.

Steyr Arms Director of Product Management Jim Barton recalls admiring LTT pistols behind a gun counter as a young man, and calls the collaboration an honor between "two companies known for craftsmanship and attention to detail." The LTT Steyr ATD and ATD Comp are available now at langdontactical.com.

The MSRP is $1,279 - $1,480 depending on the options you choose.

Would you choose the standard ATD or the ported Comp version? Flat or curved Match Trigger?
