JMac Customs Unveils Its AKM Railed Dust Cover Assembly

JMac Customs has announced the launch of its AKM Dust Cover Assembly, innovatively designed to transform how optics are mounted on AKM pattern firearms. For those expecting more from their rifles in the field, in competition, or when working with night vision and thermal devices, the JMac Customs AKM Dust Cover Assembly offers a combination of adjustability, durability, and precision, meeting the needs of serious modern shooters.

Built for battle, machined from 7075-T6 billet aluminum and Type 3 hardcoat black anodized, the JMac Customs AKM Dust Cover Assembly is durable, lightweight, and tough as nails right down to the finish. It is designed to meet the challenges and rigors of combat and competition while securing optics firmly in place. Integrating seamlessly with the JMac Customs MMS Lower Mount and Handguard, this dust cover provides a rock-solid platform for mounting optics with repeatability and zero loss of accuracy under the most demanding conditions.

While traditional dust covers struggle to maintain zero, especially under recoil and due to variances in manufacturing tolerances when it comes to the AK, the JMac Customs AKM Dust Cover Assembly addresses these challenges head-on starting with their proprietary locking system, ensuring consistent performance and return to zero after every use. An octagonal cam washer system provides eight adjustment settings, giving shooters full control over optic alignment.

A JMac Customs proprietary lower anchor (DC-ANC) slides into your rifle’s rear trunnion, locking the dust cover in place for a secure foundation. Combined with the JMac DC-BTN, the system locks down both windage and elevation axis providing consistency and accuracy. This ultimate adjustability comes without sacrifice, as the dust cover adapts to most AKM models without permanent modifications, ensuring that your rifle is always ready for any application.

Installation is simple and straightforward. Each JMac Customs AKM Dust Cover Assembly includes all the tools needed to ensure you’ll have it mounted and adjusted in no time.

FAQ from JMac Customs:

Q. Will this fit Zastava/Yugo, Milled AK, Krink
A. No, but we are working on those now and will cover most AK variants. It may work on a milled receiver if it is built with a stamped RSB.
Q. Does this require the MMS Lower Handguard
A. Yes the AKM version does while the M92/M85 and Krink versions will attach to the factory dust cover hinge.
Q. Does this come with a rear sight? Do I have to Remove my factory rear sight?
A. No, you will retain your factory rear sight
Q. Why should I buy this over other less expensive options
A. Ours holds zero and is fully adjustable with no modifications necessary. It is made from 7075 aluminum and maintains factory sights. Our handguard allows you to maintain the use of your factory cleaning rod and our system is modular and can be used with a factory gas tube. The free float handguard increases accuracy and the rigid accessory mount facilitates the use of lasers on while holding zero.

The JMac Customs AKM Dust Cover Assembly, like all JMac Customs products, is 100% made in the USA and available now through the JMac website and select distributors with an MSRP of $395.95.

Whether you’re mounting a magnified optic, running night vision or thermal optics in tandem with IR laser designators, gearing up for competitive shooting, or looking at military/LE applications, the JMac Customs AKM Dust Cover Assembly seems like a solid option for all your high-tech accessories. So this is clear as mud. They say it won't work on a milled receiver, but the pictures clearly show it mounted on a milled receiver. LOLWUT?

I know this is an American company but I wonder if Russia will ever move on from the AK platform?
