James Reeves is at IWA 2024 visiting the PARD booth to discuss their new digital combo units – rifle scopes that use both digital night vision and thermal. The PARD TD32/TD62 are multi-spectral scopes that offer both thermal imaging and visible light sensors for daytime and nighttime use. These scopes allow for separate or combined use of thermal and night vision imagery, featuring Picture-in-Picture (PIP) mode for enhanced observation and identification. They use high-sensitivity thermal detectors with resolutions of either 384×288 or 640×512, and a NETD of ≤25mK. The TD32/TD62 models are equipped with an 800×800 IPS ultra-high definition circular display, offering a comfortable and clear visual experience similar to traditional optical scopes. They also feature a 100mm long eye relief for comfortable extended use, a 1200-yard Laser Range Finder (LRF) with ballistic calculation capabilities, and one-shot zeroing for thermal and night vision channels for precise shooting. These scopes are designed for durability, with an IP67 waterproof rating and 6000J recoil resistance, and they come with replaceable and rechargeable 21700 batteries for extended use.

This is a gun that is made in-house by HugTek, who also perform the surface coating in addition to the milling, machining, and assembly. It’s a surprisingly solid lever action that’s good-looking and modular, with plenty of M-LOK, places to mount accessories on the stock and handguard, and even interchangeable furniture. Best of all, it should be in the $300-dollar-range.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at the FAB Defense booth to see the new A.M.P. pistol chassis. The A.M.P. chassis system fits almost any pistol with a rail by using interchangeable components that interface with the rail and the grip backstrap. The A.M.P. will also work with pistol slide-mounted optics already installed on your handgun and zeroed, meaning that no additional purchase is required for an optic if you have one on your gun, but if you don’t have the ability to mount an optic, you can also optionally mount one on the chassis. Wait, what? Tanfoglio is shaking it up at IWA 2024 this year by introducing a series of polymer- and steel-framed tactical and duty pistols. James Reeves interviews the gang at Tanfoglio (the gangfoglio?) to talk about this slight deviation from their chiefly competition market. As usual, these will be CZ-75-based pistols that are reasonably priced considering their Italian competition pedigree.

James Reeves is at IWA 2024 to check out the Girsan Hunter (being imported to the US as the EAA Hunter), which is one big iron. A double stack 10mm 2011 pistol, the Girsan holds 15+1 rounds of 10mm and with a huge 6-inch barrel, this 10mm will pack a punch, and because it’s Girsan, it will likely be a good deal, too (price TBD). Will this compete with higher-end models like Stacatto or BUL? We’ll see, as the 10mm double stack 2011 is not a common pistol.
