TFB Armorer's Bench: Remington Model 10 Handguard Fix

Welcome everyone to the  TFB Armorer’s Bench! As mentioned in the little blurb below, this series will focus on a lot of home armorer and gunsmith activities. In this article, I decided to do a little woodworking. I apologize for the lack of Armorer’s Bench content as of late. It has been tough juggling all the projects I have planned and getting them set up. One such multifaceted project is my Remington Model 10 Trench Gun project. Fear not! I am not destroying a beautiful well working and well-finished Remington Model 10 in order to achieve this. Mossberg 590A1 Review: Still the Ultimate Tactical Pump Shotgun?

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves gives you a long-overdue review of the Mossberg 590A1. The Mossberg 590A1 is known for its durability: this shotgun has been tested and proven in some of the toughest environments, including military trials. Whether you need a home defense shotgun or a tactical shotgun for law enforcement use, the Mossberg 590A1 is good to go. However, with semi-auto shotguns like the Mossberg 940 Tactical and Beretta A300 Patrol approaching the same price point as this top-of-the-line pump, is the Mossberg 590A1 still worth your attention? Especially the Vang Comp “Standard” edition James reviews in this episode – at $1,000 MSRP, should you just get a semi-auto instead? James opines today on TFBTV.

TFB Review: Mesa Tactical Gen II LEO Stock Kit for Remington 870 Shotguns

Mesa Tactical, that California expat company now located in Reno, Is known for law enforcement- and home defense-ready upgrades for long guns. My first experience with their gear was installing their Sureshell shell carrier/rail combo on my Remington 870 Tactical shotgun. Installation was laborious, but it’s held up well and has been so handy in terms of keeping shells at hand for speedy reloads as well as offering plenty of Pic rail for the various sighting components I’ve tried over time. It was with enthusiasm that I accepted Mesa Tactical’s offer to test the Gen II version of their LEO Stock Kit.

Firearms of Cinema: Guns from "The Book of Eli"

If you’re anything like me, then movies have been a huge influence on your love for firearms. Whether it’s classic movies like Heat, Die Hard, or True Lies, all of these movies made an impression on me when it comes to what I thought was a cool movie firearm. One of the newer movies on the list, Denzel Washington’s post-apocalypse action movie The Book of Eli, is another great example of a movie full of cool guns. While there is everything from full autos to a civil war era Gatling gun, I want to focus on the main character’s firearms and why he may have chosen them. Let’s take a closer look at the guns from The Book of Eli.
