If the Smith & Wesson Shield, Shield M2.0, and/or Shield Plus is in your EDC (everyday carry) rotation for self-defense, you now have more holster options the way of Galco Gunleather. We spend a decent amount of time traveling in vehicles, but the idea of carrying and storing firearms in your vehicle is rarely talked about. There are also a fair amount of misconceptions when it comes to how safe firearms are when they are hidden inside a vehicle. Let’s take a closer look at carrying in a vehicle and storage.

With so many new firearms owners being women, there has been a surge in female-directed options. Remington knows what women want and have announced their new collaboration with Jessie & James Handbags.

If you have your ticket to ride the 2011 bandwagon, but you are severely lacking in holsters, there is no need to fret because Galco has got your back. The new Galco Tuck-N-Go 2.0 Strongside/Crossdraw IWB Holster for the Staccato P has been announced and is currently available on their website.

Shield Arms makes more than just Glock magazines with additional capacity. The new Junk Sack is a fanny pack designed specifically for concealed carry.  It can hold pistols up to the size of a Glock 19.

As part of Safariland’s increased interest in the CCW market, they’ve partnered up with Travis Haley of Haley Strategic Partners to produce the next evolution of the original HSP Incog IWB concealment holster – the IncogX. This newest evolution features red dot compatibility, adjustable attachments like a removable magazine caddy, a new toolless adjustable wedge, and a brand-new suede outer coating for increased comfort.

Safariland is probably most well known for catering almost exclusively to the Law Enforcement and Military market. However, it’s become clear in recent times that Safariland is taking an increased interest in providing everyday customers with products more suited to their lifestyle with firearms. That’s why Safariland is excited to announce their newest OWB holster – the easy-to-conceal Solis. I’ve had one of these little rigs for the last month or so and what’s great about the Solis is that it provides a lot of versatility for a customer who may only have the money for one holster, but wants to use it for everything ranging from ECD to possibly even competition shooting. The holster comes with a paddle-style attachment for your waist and belt, but in these photos, you’ll see I’ve adapted it for use on a battle belt for some recent range trips.

Safariland has announced several new holster fitments of their Schema IWB rig. The Schema is a minimalist holster with a very low profile. It also boasts a minimalist price tag. Let’s see what new versions are being offered.

Just like there is no one perfect gun to use as a concealed carry weapon (CCW), there is no one perfect holster for concealed carry. Variables include, but certainly aren’t limited to, body shape, type of clothing, size of the gun, training levels, retention type, and most importantly, the mission. Let’s face it, if you are a C-Suite level executive and you are walking into the office with a drop leg holster, you either work for an awesome company or you live in Detroit. Similarly, an inside the waistband (IWB) holster probably isn’t the best choice for a uniformed officer. Let’s take a look at Safariland holsters, retention levels, locking mechanisms, carry styles, and how I picked an ALS concealment holster for my new Gen 5 GLOCK 26.

Raven Concealment is perhaps best known for its ultra-minimalist Vanguard series of holsters. Those tiny trigger covers are among the smallest holster options available. Raven’s lineup includes several other models, including their Eidolon IWB holster.

Especially when beginning your journey into firearms, finding a holster that can serve double duty is valuable. Many of my students are new to firearms and are planning to carry concealed. However, new shooters aren’t always comfortable drawing from concealment, nor should they be until they’ve received real training. One brand that understands this well is Alien Gear Holsters. It’s easy to overlook these items but for the best performance out of your gear, it’s a good idea to refresh everything. Let’s take a closer look at consumable carry items.

Safariland has one of if not the most extensive holster lineups in the market. They recently added a new minimalist model called the Schema. I was intrigued by the design, as well as by Safariland’s pivot into affordable holsters. So how does it work? Let’s take a look.

Owners of the SIG P365 XMacro now have a new option for holstering, with the Slim-Tuk IWB from DeSantis. Made from Kydex, the Slim-Tuk is a minimal ambidextrous IWB holster with DeSantis’ tuck-able 360 C-Clip, for almost unlimited mounting options. For instance, you can reverse the carry from the right to the left hand. The tuckable C-Clips are made from strong nylon, with 360-degree adjustability. The retail price of this DeSantis IWB holster is $43.99.

FALCO Holsters is a global provider of high-quality EDC concealment holsters and accessories. For the 2022 holiday season, FALCO Holsters is offering new purpose-built leather holsters that are made by hand. This is a review of the Concamo Ghosthood and some of the components in their Confusion Camouflage System. If you’re following TFB, I’m sure you’ve seen the Concamo images at least a few times. The images look great, and they have wonderful marketing cooperation with excellent companies like Heckler & Koch. However, I was very curious and thought our readers would be as well, what they would look like in the flesh. So I reached out to Concamo, and they were kind enough to send me some items in Concamo Green. The pattern is said to use 8 colors, blended through various elements and shadings to produce more than 60 layers of perceivable depth.

9mm micro-compact pistols have been front and center within the pistol world for quite some time now. During the midst of some of the biggest brand names releasing their own version of the 9mm micro compact to the industry, Ruger somewhat sneakily released the LCP MAX 380 pistol which took the super tiny LCP 380 semi-auto pistol with a standard magazine capacity of 6-rounds and bumped that number up to 10 rounds. James Reeves reviewed the LCP MAX 380 over on TFBTV during its initial release but we’ve yet to do that here on the blog side of things. Sometime shortly after the release of the LCP MAX 380, XS Sights came out with dedicated night sights for the pocket-sized 380 and they were gracious enough to send me a copy of their own LCP MAX 380 equipped with their DXT2 Big Dot sights. Today we’ll take a look at both the LCP MAX 380 as well as the XS Sights DXT2 Big Dot sight for it and see if this might be a sensible option for when you’re looking to be as discreet as possible.

Outside the waistband holsters have lost a bit of popularity with the increasing use of micro-compact concealed carry pistols. However, for those that still need or want one, companies like Elite Survival Systems are still developing and producing new fits of retention holsters. Elite Survival Systems has just announced the introduction of their new CR Secure Auto-Locking Retention Holster for full-size pistols.

For Today’s TFB Podcast episode I’ve brought on a recent acquaintance of mine, Tara from How I Carry. How I Carry is basically Tara’s online presence and what she does is specializes in what I think is a very underserved market – concealed carry advice and reviews for women. With more and more women taking interest in carrying concealed for themselves, the type of information that Tara provides could prove to be quite important – possibly even lifesaving for these new concealed carriers. Today I ask Tara about her best training, firearms, and gear advice that she has for other women. We also talk a bit about her journey from a non-gun owner, to a concealed carrier, to a budding competitor!

It’s hard to set yourself apart these days when it comes to holsters – especially ones that are geared towards concealed carry applications. However, I recently took the opportunity to review one of Bianchi’s hybrid leather holsters that caught my eye, and today we’ll be taking a look at it. The Bianchi Shenandoah OWB/IWB holster is a fully convertible, dual-carry holster with the ability to easily switch between IWB and OWB carry positions with minimal parts change and also with a 50% leather construction but in the reverse of how many other companies accomplish this. This holster is more interesting than meets the eye and today I hope I can properly demonstrate its features and advantages to you.

I am a huge fan of belly band holsters. The adaptable nature of the belt-less concealed carry platform allows you a lot of flexibility both in terms of firearms you can carry, positions you can carry, and adequate clothing you can conceal with. CrossBreed Holsters is now updating their bellyband lineup with the release of the new Modular Belly Band 2.0 featuring a Jersey polyester outer shell aimed at keeping you cool and comfortable even during vigorous activity.

There are some holsters that become part of your wardrobe. Put your leg through here, staple this to your leg, tie that to your belt. While more intricate holster designs can sometimes give you some advantages, who has the time? Sometimes you just need a simple and reliable holster that you can throw on quickly. In my quest for Hellcat Pro holsters, I’m trying out the Black Arch Holsters Rev-Con.

This clothing varies from lounge pants to joggers as well as other complementary clothing items we might all enjoy. So, whether you are running errands with your family, are running on a treadmill, or are simply out on the town with friends, you can remain vigilant, protect yourself, and be stylish all the while you are doing it.

Contrary to the belief of certain shooting competition organizations, appendix carry is a viable and very popular option for those who carry concealed. The position allows me to maintain constant control of my firearm and provides a very quick draw. Galco understands, however, and has just released their Paragon 2.0 holster, designed specifically for AIWB carry.

Holsters are somewhat of a confusing topic for me. Not because I don’t know what I like or what to buy but because it seems like holsters tend not to follow the same rigid rules of quality and function that other guns and gear do in the firearms industry. I find that holsters are often popular with certain people mostly for personal preference rather than pure form or function. Of course, you have some holsters that are almost universally vilified for one or two silly reasons and then there are those that many will almost universally praise but a large majority of holsters out there are either favored or forgotten based on a weird combination of personal preference combined with largely the same features. I say all of this because today we’ll be featuring some of my personal favorite holsters. So let’s get jolly and look at some ho ho holsters!
