Smith & Wesson broke ground on a new manufacturing facility roughly 3 years ago in Tennessee, and they have been up and running there ever since. Now, they have announced that they are manufacturing new Tennessee Special versions of their M&P9 M2.0 and Shield Plus pistols in limited edition variants for a short time.

Smith & Wesson @ TFB:

Maryville, Tennessee – April 4th, 2024 – Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc. (NASDAQ Global Select: SWBI), a leader in firearm manufacturing and design, announced today the release of four TN Special Makeup pistols from the M&P9 M2.0 and Shield Plus series.

This new offering includes two 3.1-inch barrel M&P9 Shield Plus micro-compacts with and without a thumb safety, a 4-inch barrel M&P9 M2.0 compact with a thumb safety, and a 4.25-inch barrel M&P9 M2.0 full-size, also with a thumb safety. In recognition of the company’s historic move to Tennessee, these new handguns display a laser engraved Tri-Star emblem on the barrel, paying homage to the state flag and its representation of the three Grand Divisions: West, Middle, and East Tennessee.

“M&P striker-fired pistols have remained a cornerstone of Smith & Wesson’s legacy over the years and embody our brand’s ethos of reliability, performance, and durability. These extensions proudly bearing the engraved Tri-Star emblem are a tribute to our historic move and the rich heritage of our new home in Tennessee,” said Andrew Gore, Product Manager, Handguns.

If you hail from the great state of Tennessee, this would be an absolute Must-Buy in my opinion being as you have such a prominent manufacturer like Smith & Wesson crafting firearms in your state. The biggest question is which one do you get? With MSRPs fluttering around $550 – $680, they are all very attainable. As always, let us know all of your thoughts about Smith & Wesson and these new Tennessee Special variants. We always appreciate your feedback.

Can gun companies please stop with the warning billboards on guns? S&W and Ruger seem to be the worst offenders. Hey, guess what; we know it's dangerous....it's an f-ing gun!!
