Quattro-15 & QMAG-53 (Desert Tech)

Back in January, we got our first hands-on look at Desert Tech’s new Quattro-15 and QMAG-53 at SHOT Show 2023. Now, after a year of preparing production of their intriguing new system, Desert Tech have announced that the Quattro-15 AR lower receiver and QMAG-53 are now shipping.

Desert Tech @ TFB:

The new quad-stack magazine design was developed as part of Desert Tech’s NGSW submission, the company in turn developed the Quattro-15 lower which paired with the QuadMag-53 aims to increase capacity stock AR-15 upper receivers with an enlarged magazine well. The magazine well is windowed to minimise additional weight and the magazine is quad-stack, double-feed.

To celebrate the launch, Desert Tech shared a new video, explaining the origins of the idea and how the new lower and magazine work. Check it out below:

It would be awesome if they came out with a super compact 30 round magazine that allowed the shooter a much lower placement when firing prone.
